No, don't do this. It would not properly capture the FR of this speaker. This speaker requires a 4ft minimum mic distance and is very difficult to measure without room influence. Best to just measure...

Cool CD, nice find. If you get a similar FR on your horn, I'm betting a 6 or 700 XO point would be possible in the home environment if you're willing to risk it and aren't an SPL junky.

Sounds like you need a Q of about 1.5. That's about 1 octave iirc. Try between 1 and 1.5.

Look like chinese clone drivers. You're buying these off a DIY'er? As a DIY'er myself, I wouldn't pay a penny for those unless I knew the person was able to design a XO well and was willing to show...

Have you seen the iron driver designs? Also check out Zaph's designs. Does it need a flat pack?

^ Exactly. I'm not sure his reading comprehension is adequate. It seems on every one of these large review threads someone quotes the whole thing.

I still don't care what he thinks of these...

Huh, your AVR uses a really gentle slope. Comparing orange to brown it looks like you're only -3db at the XO and maybe 12db at 40hz.

Not trying to make you do extra work. Sorry. Just wondering is all. The low ends look identical between the test. Should be more than 12db down by 40hz.

The low bass cut off is almost the same as the 80hz XO. Are you sure the 80hz XO was engaged? Possibly set to large by accident?

Not denying the results. I'm sure they're fine. Just trying to...

I didn't realize you had it in your baffle wall already. I thought you were still like the post above and that bass down to 60hz seemed odd. In that case it's not totally warranted. Unless finding...

Nice data, thanks.

It would be interesing to know if the 0 position is no eq, or a eq'ed flat position. It looks like you still have a lot of bass output for a 80hz XO. If it was port noise,...

Please don't quote the entire review. No quote is needed to say what you said. At least snip the quote down to a couple sentances.

To me it looks like the signal to noise ratio isn't good. With DATS the output signal is really small. The room needs to be dead quite. Take a few measurements and see if those ripples change. If...

I'm pretty sure it would kills your chances of returning them, but if you do it I prefer insulation. Like R12. About 20% of the cab volume. Friction fit into the various ribs, edges, what ever. Other...

I'd try adding if you're out of warranty. It's typical of PA speakers. You'll lose some bass but probably worth it to get some midrange clarity back.

How much stuffing is inside the cabs on these? I wonder if some wadding would help kill some internal reflections.

That is probably the room causing a suck out there. It should affect all speakers in those spots though, not just the 1099. So you could move the volts there and probably get the same thing. Maybe a...

It's easy to blame the room, make sure you're 100% on the speaker first. The room can be detrimental <500hz and it can smear the >500hz sounds, but shouldn't be blamed for what you're describing....

If it really was quite and the signals in your measurement setup were good (be sure they were) then that's a pretty ugly measurement. I'd see what it is like free air if you can. Is there stuffing in...

Yes it would be up to you. But you'll need to learn XO design. You can't use those online calculators or off the shelf XO'ers. They don't work as advertised. You'll want to take detailed...
