I doubt that would be a good gauge on potential interest. If they are going to mass produce, then they will be aiming at a population that probably are not audio/video enthusiasts and have never...

A made to order 65" would make no sense at all. It's either a mistake, or they changed their minds about releasing the R series but are doing this just to save face. Generating this much hype about...

I know what you are saying. I just feel (speculation) strongly that they never intended to ever mass produce this set or any other set of this size. There's no financial risk involved in a build to...

They could sell the 120" for $100,000 and it would still undercut the competition for super large TV's by a good bit. I would think the price coming in anywhere near 10,000 will be practically zero....

Well, the biggest difference between the M and P series will be HDR, not the number of zones. The 65" R series will be just too small for many of us, but I suspect the larger sizes will show up for...

Sounds like a good home for the P series then. They might have a special demo in BB and Magnolia set up for the R series. Probably throw up a few VUDU ads next to the demo.

I don't know why you would think Vizio would have Walmart sell their R series. That would be reserved for specialty stores. I went into a nice Magnolia Center in Houston where they were showcasing...

IIRC, there was no big Black Friday sale for the P series last year. They did drop the price for about a two month period before January 2015. I imagine they will do the same approach this year.

That is a lot of difference numerically, but you still have the law of diminishing returns. The Vizio P series from 2014 already looks just as good in its FALD as my 70" Sharp Elite with almost 300...

If the P series is coming out in 70-80" sizes, then it trumps the R series. The R might have a slightly better picture with more zones but it likely won't be enough of a difference to override the...

It's not just a light issue. I have a dedicated theater room but it's just for movies once in awhile. You really can't treat a projector like a TV because of the bulb life.

Actually, Vizio holding off until October to release the R series makes a hell of a lot more sense now. It will be timed nicely with the release of VUDU HDR and 4K HDR blu ray players. If they...

I look forward to it as well. However, wouldn't the PQ of the 4k blu rays be identical to the uncompressed demos we see on the showroom floor? The only thing that would differentiate them is if all...

Any hint or rumors if the P series will go up in size availability? Possibly a 75 and 80 like the M series?

If it does, it would have to be for late 2016 otherwise they would show the other sizes on the online Vizio store.

I agree. The 65" and 120" options are just bizarre.

65" is just too damn small. 120" built to order is on the other end of absurd and obviously just done for bragging rights. Perhaps 2016 R...

Also, it's interesting to note that if you go to the 120" R series page, it has a "Special Order" button where they make the set as each order comes in. This should end all speculation about the TV...

I doubt this. The only way to get a 120" TV in a reasonable price range is through mass production. This will be a "build on demand" set. As in you contact Vizio, and they build one and make...

The strange and limited screen size selection is what makes me think it's not vaporware. Or at least not intentional vaporware. If this was all fake hype then they would have promised other sizes...

Perhaps. But then you are in a situation of comparing the lowest priced non HDR 1080P OLED's to the highest priced cutting edge FALD 4K LCD's.

That's still a 400%-500% margin increase above the same sized LCD's. Another thing that is hurting them IMO is the marketing approach they take to sell them. They really shine in a darker room...
