Depends on the model as only the 838 has a dedicated set of speaker posts for the Height speakers, whereas the lower models share the Height with the Surround Back.

Try doing a soft reset by unplugging the unit for 10 minutes. If no joy, do a microprocessor reset (see post ##5 of this thread). And if yet still no joy, exchange it.
