You still might not be able to access your copy-protected shows. The recordings are coded specifically to the machine that recorded them. Doesn't take much to trigger DRM non-compliance.

If you have a separate graphics card installed, the on-board graphics are usually disabled automatically. Have you tried going from your graphics card to the AVR, then from the AVR to your TV?

If swapping the PSU didn't do the trick, then most likely the motherboard was taken out. If you decide to repair your computer, I wouldn't trust that PSU any longer.

It could be the motherboard, but most likely the power supply. You can verify this if you have a known-good power supply you can plug in and test it with.
