The projector's built-in speaker is not going to be able to keep up with the other speakers. Instead, I would move the height speakers to the ceiling and forego the VOG speaker.

Other way 'round. Pre-pros are typically more expensive because they're made in much fewer numbers compared to similarly featured receivers. Balanced outs, no need to have amps in the chassis.
