All you need is a second rca cable: first cable from AVR sub/LFE pre-out to MiniDSP input 1 and second cable from MiniDSP output 1 to LV12R LFE in (or Line In if you prefer).

The MiniDSP 2x4...

Got it! Very helpful thanks! Soooo I kind of understand there are these miniDSPs you can buy that sit between the sub and AVR which can apply corrections at the problematic areas, like my 25-35hz...

Trying to wrap my head around this as a concept. The frequency response is telling me that between 25-35hz, the subwoofer sounds much louder than it should at the MLP. First, is that right?

So...

Also, because the LFE channel measures 10dB higher, turning the REW signal from -12dBFS to -22dBFS for LFE will keep you from running sweeps too close to this sub's output limits especially down low....

I'm thinking the 30hz peak is because of the room. I did a few speaker only sweeps and they both have that same peak. That would imply a room thing right?[/QUOTE]

Agreed Plasma.

If he can tame that 30hz peak (Audyssey would do it, or a MiniDSP) and with the sub distance tweak that response would be very respectable IMO.

There is another slight issue...

It does appear that CC+sub can be improved at crossover region via sub distance tweak.

However, I would sort out any sub issues first, including the peak and the rattling.

Yeah this is with EQ on. I turned it off and there was not a lot of change in that peak from 25-35hz. I do notice there is a rattle down low when running MCACC that didn't used to be there. This...

That peak is also masking everything under it, which makes the ULF basically non-existent...

I wouldn't bother playing with crossovers until the sub frequency response/placement is optimized.

That ~32Hz peak needs to be brought down either via placement or EQ or both. That is the bass managed portion of the cc+sub measurement and will show up in the LFE channel too. It might also be...

I'm interested in seeing how your current setup measures. You'll also be able to do compression sweeps like I did yesterday to see what max clean SPL at 20Hz your sub in your room can do. Just...

I've read this in many places AVS...

The 10 Hz tone would not have been the issue for the LV12R as it is rolling off most of the signal by then. The 15 Hz tone is right below tune and would likely have caused extreme excursion.

My 2 guesses would be either the driver bottomed out OR, more likely, the amp received too hot of a signal and a...

Depends upon how much voltage the amp is putting out, but generally speaking using both inputs is safe. You're essentially doubling the signal strength on the input side of the amp. That could...
