Yea, I usually prefer to have finishes with not a lot of red in them. Almost all of my furniture in the house is sans red pigment. Just personal preference :)

I have attempted 0000 steel wool to see how it did. Honestly, I have learned a LOT over the last few months on finishing wood to a semi-gloss/high gloss finish and steel wool is not the tool to use....
