Zero, mine was under warranty each time. I do agree about cost. If it was me and it was out of warranty I'd buy a new tv vs repair that one.

Agree, replacing the entire panel is easiest. I've had my replaced a couple times and the guys come in and do it in about 15min. But they know what they are doing. :-)

It's not pass/fail. The valid just means you have proper sync with the monitor. The UFO moving across the screen should be smooth with no blur in the ideal case.

Stereo is 2.1, so if you are getting audio from your center channel I would double check your speaker connections. My guess is you have a couple wires crossed.
