I have a feeling it will go 8 seasons. To finish this entire story in only 2 more seasons seems like it would be extremely rushed - more so if they are going to include some of the unused book 4...

I'm certainly willing to give the showrunners a great deal of latitude this season. The reality is they are trying to take two full books that were meandering and unfocused at best, and torture them...

Wow - I thought that this weeks show was the funniest in recent memory. Its great to see Louie CK be funny since his show is mostly maudlin these days.

Is it really true that Paris was originally an island with the Siene flowing around it? If so I'm not familiar with the history of how that changed to the current day landscape.

Kris, I wonder if you could comment about how much brighter the Epson is subjectively than the JVC - does the extra brightness feel like a meaningful improvement?

Thanks

Where can I find out more about this? Seems like a game changer if you don't have to assume worst case scenario of half brightness for screen sizing.

No - it's more like 900 vs 1200. And less than 900 as soon as the bulb starts aging.

By all means, buy it. That's your prerogative. I'm just saying that a few publications have posted numbers (read FACTS) that, yes, this projector DOES NOT "challenge" (my interpretation is that you...

Fair Enough :) Although, if it continues to have no lens memory (like the 300ES) its still not a viable option for me.

Think about how that would work:

1) A customer "supposes" his brightness is prematurely low
2) Having no measurement tools to confirm, they either have to hire someone authorized by Epson to...

What would have been nice would be to tie brightness mode to lens memory, so you could have it easily switch to high brightness for zoomed out 2.35:1 AR, and medium brightness for 16x9 AR.

Is...

It is *because* of the long lasting stable laser that the useful brightness is much more than 300 extra lumens. After 100 hours on the JVC the Epson will be more like 500 lumens brighter, or nearly...

I would characterize 25%-33% more usable lumens for a much longer period of time as more than a "slight advantage". After a hundred hours or so on the bulb the Epson will be 50-60% brighter. YMMV.

Just so I understand, 150" diag = 12' x 5' scope screen = 60 sqft. 1200 calibrated lumens on a unity gain screen = 20 ftL with a new bulb, and perhaps as low as 10ftL when the bulb has fully aged.
