That may be the case with the newest JVCs (which I don't own) but sync times have been pretty bad for JVC for the previous couple of generations predating the 18Gbps HDMI chips.

Here's hoping for faster HDMI sync times. As fond as I am of JVC projectors (I'm on my second JVC and looking to upgrade) this is one area where there's a lot of room for improvement.

Why not use a high quality Navitar conversion lens? That way you are not limited to a short throw projector.

Other than marketing speak there's nothing to indicate that the new Epson goes blacker than their lamp-based projectors. Unless you mean the other Epson projectors. We will know for sure soon...

Thanks Mike. The above is a very telling comment. It's nice to see a laser based projector under $8K hit the market but we are still a ways from absolute blacks.

This is an exciting projector. It reminds me of when the JCV RS2 was announced with its breakthrough contrast ratio.
