Turning Audyssey off doesn't alter or disable the crossover settings in your AVR - it just turns off the equalization.

If you haven't already done so, go into your AVR's speaker set-up menu and...

I'm pretty sure this thread has run its course, so I won't be posting in it again. If anything, I'll start a new thread next week - after I've re-assembled my set-up - if I have any questions to ask...

I'm going to add the miniDSP back into the chain and:
- generate a 10-100Hz (or maybe 12-100Hz) curve for the UXLs (outputs 1 & 2); and
- add a 20-30Hz HPF for the SS-18s (output 3).

Hopefully,...

Previously, I ran miniDSP first, then Audyssey over top, and it worked great: I'd tweak, and then Audyssey would give me a nice flat curve to ~17Hz.

But at one point I loaded a flat-to-10Hz curve...

The above was taken with the mains off and the x-over set to 120Hz. With the mains on and the x-over set to 80Hz, things don't look quite as good higher up.

(The slight boost in overall FR may be...

Will do! :)

Meanwhile, I tried the LS filter (black line) and it does pull up the bottom end a bit: The -6dB point (as in +0/-6dB) moves from ~-16.5Hz to ~15.5Hz.

(Measurements taken at -10dB.)

Since I can't do what I was hoping to do - which was let the UXLs handle the really low stuff and take advantage of the SS-18s strong upper end for the mid-bass - running everything "full range"...

Outlaw has sales fairly frequently - in late June, they had the LFM-1 EX on sale for $599, shipped.

IMO, if you're not in a hurry to buy, wait for the next sale on the LFM and get one (or two) of...

First, max out the "CROSSOVER FREQUENCY" (actually a low-pass filter, or LPF) on the sub.

Your speakers don't extend nearly low enough and your sub doesn't extend nearly high enough to ensure...

Not sure if it's the cheapest, but the miniDSP is both a reasonably priced and very slick little device:
- miniDSP 2x4 (http://www.minidsp.com/products/minidsp-in-a-box/minidsp-2x4) @ $105
- 2Way...

I was going under the assumption that the iNuke rolled off at 20Hz by default and that using LTD02's method of pushing the HPF lower would allow me to EQ below 20Hz.

I re-read his OP in this...

I did (although I didn't graph it) and, as with the SS-18s + miniDSP, it had minimal effect.

I also tried a shallower, 6dB slope on both the HPF (Butterworth, 6dB/octave) and the PEQ (HS6, 20Hz,...

- The FR curve looks about the same as it did with the SS-18s, but the lower frequencies sound noticeably "thicker" / seem to have more "weight" to them. The UXLs seem to be...

Funny you should say that - I've actually been thinking about something along the line of a pair of Fusion-10s w/ an 88 Special in between.

But...not yet. Not just yet... ;)
