Do some more reading on left and right speaker placement behind a wall to wall screen, it is not halfway from the center to the wall. Visit the Dolby labs website and look at their 7.1 speaker layout.

one vote separate, there is a reason outlet boxes have backs, your low voltage box does not. Even though it is unenergized when you plug it in it is.

I wouldn't extend that vent, I would close it off...

I wouldn't extend that vent, I would close it off with a piece of sheet metal. then use a take off on top and some flex duct, move the duct up into the joist space, then bring back into the theater...
