Indeed. Add to that the fact that there are tens, hundreds, thousands of variables that aren't controlled for and it's difficult to reach any definitive conclusion regarding the ZT's predisposition...

The change is interesting. I'd be curious to know what D-Nice saw to justify it. I don't have equipment to measure the difference between the two settings, but when you read the description...

I think I could tell the difference between the VT60 & ZT60 side by side in a bright room, especially right after powering them on. ;)

I was just at my dad's. He has a 65" VT50. He watches nothing...

It's not a $5,000 TV. While I agree that the fan noise is a real engineering failure. That should have been discovered during R&D. However, I don't see the vertical banding as an issue since I...

Mine did early on, but it's since faded. In some scenes when I'm looking for it I can see it, but it's effectively no longer there.

First, although a hotter, brighter phosphor will almost certainly be more likely to cause IR, running slides is for panel calibration prep, not IR prevention. That's water under the bridge at this...

We've all been hoping (& waiting) for that for going on a half decade now. The sooner the better, but I can guarantee it won't happen in the time it takes to move any remaining ZT60 stock.

I didn't mean to imply you were, just that I've heard the same things said about 4k that you have--how great it looks and all that--without any accounting for the obvious problems (production,...

Pardon me if I'm not on board with the whole 4k thing, but I'd be happy just to see a good 1080p stream. As it is, it's available on what, satellite TV and a small selection of Netflix titles?

Understood. My TV calibrated to 32FL with contrast at 100. I know Chad (and perhaps others) have managed to get more out of the ZT but 32FL isn't exactly torch mode, even in a dim room.

I know I've said this a few time already, but your contrast level may affect IR susceptibility on your TV. My TV was calibrated with contrast at 100 but I experienced some IR from gaming. I checked...

I'm curious how he arrived at that setting. Look at a gray scale pattern and there is no change from about 70 to 100 contrast. On one hand, that indicates that the contrast needn't be any higher...
