My analogy would be similar to the way 2K Blu-ray discs benefit from 4K transfers/masters.

Like others, they tend to assume DD & DTS work pretty much exactly the same way...which they don't (as I mentioned before, DTS allots its bits to each channel the same so silence gets the same...
