I seem to be getting the best results sending RGB instead of YCbCr, but the perceived difference is very subtle so I'm not sure if I'm really seeing a difference. I'm hoping some of you pro...

Do the 2013 Panasonic plasmas accept/display RGB natively?

That is, without conversion back to YCbCr 4:4:4 or 4:2:2?

I can't believe the F8500 doesn't handle 4:4:4 color space natively. Don't the 2013 Panasonic models handle it natively (i.e. without converting it back to 4:2:2)?

Yeah agreed, that's my point. LCD tech is inherently flawed and even the best engineers can't overcome a fundamentally flawed tech.

I would expect a Panasonic engineered and implemented OLED panel to be noticeably better than LG, but you're right there is no guarantee. ...

Well imagic (i.e. Mark), I for one greatly appreciate your highly critical review. While I'm certainly not in the market to purchase a $25,000 TV like this (or even one of the lower priced models),...

I do wish one of the Japanese companies like Panasonic would make a deal with LG and buy their panels, as I think their overall engineering and processing would be a considerable step up from LG's...

No, it's full 1080p. It's just not full 1920 (vertical), so it's not full HD resolution of 1080x1920. I believe it's only about 1500 vertical (or something like that).
