50" would probably be too large also. Look for a 42" or 47" Vizio. That would give you the best bang for your buck.

I find it useful to see how the set handles the increase of either contrast, brightness and/or chroma. The 'cheaper' sets usually fail earlier with the highest level blocks clipping.

Yes, it is somewhat "abnormal", but there is no way that side effect should happen.
I haven't tried what it looks like with regular programming, I will and post back.
