Any modern AVR will have trim controls for this. Just trim the 1299s down as needed. The added sensitivity helps the amp save power.

A big false wall that the speakers sit in with the speaker baffles flush to the wall. Makes for zero back wall reflections and nets an additional 6db bass. Very good thing!

The more distance the better. But everything is a compromise. Do you have measurement gear? Could try a few placements and see what you get. Have it close to the wall means the reinforcement will be...

I heard them in the same setup. They weren't beamy the way I understand the term, but I found the image collapsed anywhere other than sitting dead center. I think it would have helped to have the...

Just like pretty much any speaker, putting them up against the wall will cause interference and reinforcement which will lead to a rough response below about 500hz on this speaker. But depending on...

For surrounds, those should both do well, provided theyre closer to the listening position as they won't have quite the massive output as the 1299 or PSA. Can you fit the volt 10?

It is possible but the extension will be pretty poor. I'd build it stock with ports and then try plugging them if the screen is affected.

Depends what you mean by better. The natural extension will go lower on the 1099, but the 1299 has more natural mid bass built into the frequency response. The 1299 could be eq'ed to go lower though....

I disagree with Bill. Having to use a sealed enclosure is a small set back for what is gained in low end effeciency and diffraction control. In walls are great!
