If the sub levels are set to -8db/-9db after running Audyssey (which is fine), simply use the Subwoofer Level settings to raise both settings to 0db.

Possibly. Set the HDMI Control setting on the AVR to ON. You may also need to set VierraLink on the TV to ON as well.
