Be sure to check the black level and gamma settings. I thought the default settings for ISF Bright were terrible and switched it to be more like ISF Dark with a larger value for the OLED Lamp.

I'm...

Did you check the actual measurements on the 65" LG's?

It's pretty close in size to older 60" HDTV's.

Does anyone know what Real Cinema is supposed to do with 24p material inside of 50i video? It shouldn't be trying to apply reverse telecine.

If it tries to apply a speed correction in order to...

I have no idea what their process entails, but if the B6 was consistently 20% brighter than the other models ... why wouldn't they advertise it?

I have a guess why ... that's all ...

OLED and LCD can both induce the phenomena of motion blur because of how they hold each frame steady, but what this thread is about has to do with the LG's solution to this phenomena ("TruMotion")...

I stream primarily via the TV these days, and as far as we know those apps handle 24p correctly. I have my TiVo in "native mode", so 60i to 24p conversion is pertinent.

This is speculation, but the thought is that LG puts panels which do not output sufficient light for 3D in to the B6. The B6 sells a lot more units, though, and yields tend to improve over time.

The B6 seems to have two identified motion issues:

1) It cannot apply reverse telecine to extract a 24p signal from a non-24p signal.

2) TruMotion seemingly cannot be completely disabled...

You can download 4K demos to a thumb drive and watch those on your TV. If you see issues with those, you clearly have a defective panel.

And you believe this is simply because TruMotion is not completely disabled when off. If that's the case, and if B6 owners can make that clear to LG, a fix should be trivial.

Why TruMotion blows...
