I don't know what it's called, I'm afraid. I had it installed professionally. The tracks are in two pieces that snap together and hinge open on one side. You affix the fabric to the other side...

I would have made the stretched-fabric panels removable wherever there was a speaker behind them. It was a technical challenge to do this, so I opted not to. I believed that it was unlikely that...

That's interesting. Where do your subs cross over (i.e., what range of frequencies are getting that 6dB boost)? I find that I also have modified the bass levels for music compared to movies.

OOoooooooooh. Interesting. Thank you for the clarification! I guess now we get to start talking about "4-chip DLP projectors". :-)

How does stacking DLPs improve contrast? Don't you get twice the brightness and a black floor that's also twice as high?

Perhaps, but don't forget about HDR. HDR will require substantially higher light output.

Fair enough. I guess what I'm saying is that it's potentially a major project to install this projector, and I'd like to understand what exactly the plan is, what the requirements would be, and what...

I would love to understand the intent here. If the idea is that the cooling unit could be located outside the room, allowing the projector itself to be super-quiet, then that's very interesting. But...

Optimal according to what set of criteria? 1.5 picture height for 1.78 content works out to the screen occupying a 60-degree horizontal viewing angle. That's enormous, and for many people,...

I don't think you have to have 4K content to enjoy a 4K projector. I enjoyed the hell out of my Sony 4K for over a year before I got a viable 4K source for it. The Sony scaler does a very good job...

That would sure be exciting. I like my Sony very much, but every technology has its shortcomings. I would love to see how a 4K DLP would compare. The huge win for the Sony is how quiet it is for...

With all cables reconnected, the processor boots normally now and appears to be working fine. I have to assume that unplugging one of the cables that I pulled allowed a component to get out of a bad...

The translated article says RGB laser, so it sure sounds like it's not a phosphor-based engine.

The issues for me would be contrast, noise, and 4K. If they're really thinking about 12,000 lumens,...

My 1.78 screen is basically just a substitute for a 2.0 screen. I figured I would just get a 1.78 screen as wide as I wanted my 2.35 stuff to be, then I could reduce the size of 1.78/1.85 content as...
