What speakers? You would be able to continue to use the speakers in the projector if it has them but you would not want to. You would want all your sources going to the AVR directly and speakers...

No VESA port does stink. Just to limiting on active glasses support. Not sure why it is not just standard on every 3D display, especially the newer models.

If you do not use the trigger feature is it better? I mean manually turn on the projector 1st. HDMI really expects to see an HDCP compliant display when activated.

I'm not experienced with wireless speaker audio at all. I think you just have to make sure your AVR / Audio processor has Pre-outs for the surrounds...
