I paid just over $1,000 for my Pro 8100 back in...

I paid just over $1,000 for my Pro 8100 back in the day. Been hanging from my ceiling for 6 years. Only put 1100 hrs on it though since that time. I should probably replace the bulb :p

Nothing will fix the sticky mess, it's the plastic degrading. Common with many soft touch plastics. Hasn't happened with mine yet.
You could use Goo Gone or rubbing alcohol to remove the plastic...
