While I agree that the L75 will have some issues a straight array can work very well even if it's not the full height of the room. You can optimize a DSP crossover at the listening distance and apply...

The TD-6 mid which I think is no longer available. I didn't get a chance to compare the two designs side-by-side but the Audax mid measured better for response and has higher sensitivity. The TD-6...

The pro mids are generally more susceptible to breakup modes and have less linearity in the frequency response. Bandwidth is also typically more restricted. These are the tradeoffs for higher...

Josh - that now seems like such a long time ago! In retrospect the small subs had a tough time keeping up with the arrays. The array designs have changed quite a bit since then.

I'm not sure what you're referring to. There was a significant edge resonance breakup which is typical of pro drivers with thin / light paper cones. The DSP helped out in that regard.

The AE mids were supplied by my customer. I don't think the 6.5" is in production now so it's probably not that beneficial to discuss how it performs. The sensitivity seemed to be a little lower than...

RAAL specifies 1.6K for the 140-15D and 1.8K for the 70-20XR. I usually don't discuss specific crossover points because that can vary depending on the driver combination.

The OEM RAAL (70-20XR) won't cross that low. I've designed some higher sensitivity 3-ways with the 140-15D and Audax / AE 6.5" mids. The foam pads smooth out the vertical dispersion and the smaller...

The horn is needed to extend the low frequency response but it's pretty obvious that the crossover point should be higher than 1K. I would expect the horizontal power response to be much better...

I can't really answer for the people that like them but in my own experience (I've heard 4-5 different designs) they always fall short in tonality and horizontal dispersion. The low frequency...

We have a large CBT array with 2" full-range drivers in the gym at my church. It actually works pretty well but it's not something I would do for a home system.

This is with a ribbon shorter than the BG Neo8 so there will be more variance with the BG tweeter starting at a lower frequency. If the BG is used in a non-shaded array it will also further degrade...

There is quite a bit of nonsense in 2-channel audio but in HT I think it's much more sane. I have a cabinetmaker and a finisher that both do a great job. Thanks for your kind comments.

I've not heard the M2 but it looks like JBL really did their homework on that design. How do you like the highs compared to the BMS drivers?
