Is there anyway to reflash the firmware on the unit (or upgrade it to the latest)? Maybe there's corrupt information in the software that's not allowing it to accept a 4K input.

Just as a note, if you plan on going that route you'll need to also buy a screen that retains polarizarion. Not all screens do so you'll need to do your research.
