Taht sounds interesting. I'll have to check it out on Netflix. It is interesting to see a high-quality HBO show produced on a real-life topic in this interesting sort of docu-drama format. They could...

1 gigabit, not one gigabyte. 600/125 ain't bad at all, and that should, in theory, be enough to support 50+ Netflix SuperHD streams, so it's not raw bandwidth that's an issue.

It's not throttled upstream. That sounds like another peering issue. Another provider would probably do a lot better, you have TWC in your area? It may also get better, since I believe Netflix paid...

At this point, I'd probably get a good sub-$1k projector and wait until 4K for $4K becomes a reality.

That's just plain wrong. Most of the US has access to 100+mbps internet at a reasonable...

Wow, there is a lot of misinformation in this thread.

Cable can't convert to H.265 for most HD channels for a long, long time. H.264 will likely come faster, since most, but not all, cable...

The Life and Death of Robert Durst - HBO

It sucked me in. It's a pretty well done show, with good production value for the genre. I like the interview format with him, he is a really, really weird guy, that's for sure. And then the big...

Some people could figure out DVI-HDCP or HDMI-HDCP 10 years ago, but this stuff is completely beyond most users. You know it's getting bad when someone like Scott can't even get all the info put...

WTIC you mean? It's a Comcast issue. They get a really good fiber feed from WFSB, and then they compress the snot out of it. A lot of the problem is the low-frequency systems that they refuse to...

Yeah, that's a QAM or a channel. 6mhz on a cable system, ATSC-QAM modulation. ATSC-8VSB (OTA) gives 19mbps per 6mhz channel, which, in theory, is one HD channel, but almost all broadcasters cram...

Comcast. They are heavily compressing WFSB. I rarely watch WTIC, but it looks a lot better. They also heavily compress WEDH and WNET, which sucks, but they don't compress WGBH nearly as much, so...
