Never mind about the tests, guys. Barry and I worked out the differences in the workflows. Apparently, dual stream mp4 is the only export option from Edius that guarantees results in PowerDirector....

If you guys are up for it, I'd like to do an experiment sometime in the next few days. I'd like to test the workflow that I've had success with on my systems, as well as one that doesn't work. I have...

I'm saying that when I render an HQ or HQX dual stream progressive file in Edius, then burn an iso from it or produce an m2ts file from it in PD, the video freezes up near the end. Everything looks...

I tried HQ and HQX several times, this time converting first to m2ts, and each time I get frozen video at about 70% of the way through the video render. The mp4 render worked without showing any...

Good to know. I can wait.

If I can repeat my success in a project with more challenging footage, I'm going to create a very detailed step by step procedure for this workflow. I thought I had Edius...

After a couple of additional failures, I think I may have a stable Edius/PowerDirector workflow for creating a 1080/24p Blu-ray 3D disc that has 5.1 DTS audio and 3D menus. All thanks to Barry's...

Bob and Barry,

Remind me how you were able to get Edius dual stream progressive to work in PD. I know PD can create Blu-ray 3D discs at 24p or 60p from my JVC original 60i video, but my Edius test...

The mp4 test was worse than the HQ test. The disc couldn't get past the menu. As soon as it started to play, it froze up the player (two players, actually). The m2ts file on the disc looked corrupted...

Usually what I do is find a relative or friend who needs a PC. When I get a new system, I give the old one away. My everyday PC will have a new home.

The good news is that, if the frozen video problem is fully resolved with mp4 output, the 24p workflow is solid and straightforward - for both video and 5.1 audio (either DD or DTS). De-interlacing...

What WAS I thinking? :D

I suspect you're right, Barry. I'm probably due for an upgrade anyway. My edit PC is about 3 years old now. It's a 6-core i7, but if a new 4-core Quick Sync system renders...

So, I did a test burn in PD, using the 5.1 audio track from Edius. I chose DTS 5.1 for the Blu-ray, and it worked without a hitch. This is, I believe, Don's typical workflow going from Vegas to PD....

Question for you, Barry. When I try to open a 5.1 audio file (uncompressed wav) that was created in Edius, AudioDirector 5 tells me it's an unsupported file type. Vegas reads it just fine and maps it...
