IMO, sometimes differences can be picked up in a short A/B session but others require living with one versus the other to make that judgment. I returned amps after living with them and switching back...

Was that the CMS1 or CMS2 you are referring to. To my understanding the series 2 was a big jump. The only CM I have heard was the CM7 which ended my desire to get CM9s.

I would suggest trying the outer bungs in the upper port as that is what most do to tighten it up.

Yes, I am aware the CM10s are sonically S2s, the difference only being aesthetics between S1 and S2. I think all the woofers are all 6 1/2", are they not (2 for R700, 3 for CM10s).

I appreciate your sharing your impressions of the R700 vs CM10s. I believe the Rs were superior to the CMS1s (realizing subjective so not all will agree) but wondered about the S2s. The R series are...

I have a big wish. I was looking at the specs for the Halo integrated -essentially a preamp/DAC with HT bypass and amp - what a great concept! The peak amps are 45 like the A23 vs the A21/31/51 of...

Since I have not heard the 8802 I am going by the input on this forum but I would consider the 8802 plus a good 2 channel amp to add to the M8807 for L&R, such as the Parasound Halo A21. Edit:...

Okay, I have only heard a few of the many Kef models but they are Reference 103/4, 105/3, 205/2 (current), IQ30, XQ40, R700 and LS50. Have not heard the new Reference but what I heard of the R700s,...

Congrats on those getting the new Reference 1s, especially how long Rick had to wait. Looking forward to your impressions in your own systems! They certainly look huge for bookshelf models. Pretty...

Also agree on multichannel music, Bluray and SACD which is why I have my eye on this 8802. For those that have had the 8801 and now 8802, how does the heat output compare? They are both spec'd at 90...

From what I have heard the new Reference 1's will do it all, best of both worlds. Looking forward to feedback from owners. The wait has been too long. CD: Having both LS50s and R300s must be sweet.

I would think Parasound Halo offers the best combination of SQ and cost, IMO. Would I love a MacIntosh 452, absolutely but too pricey for me at the moment.

I would go with the R500 and live with the iQ60c for now. For movies it will work well, multichannel music may not be as good but down the road you can get an R center. I used a iQ2c with 103/4s and...

Absolutely! Being able to cut off EQ at 120 or 250 Hz would be great. I like D&Ms option of leaving L&R alone which if I had I may even use XT32.

The LS50 can be laid on its side, is a R200 narrower then that?
Edit: 170 mm vs 200 mm for the LS50, so yes a little over an inch.

I looked up the power usage of the 8802 and 8801 and both show 90w. I find it hard to believe as I thought the 8801 was more like 130w and would expect the 8802 to be higher with more computing power.

I will keep trying (3rd post?) but make a serious music player by joining with J River or similar to have a great interface and playback of digital music files.
