I know that there are many people with Jamo subs...

I know that there are many people with Jamo subs that are very pleased with them. However, the polks, people are almost always disappointed and want to upgrade soon after.

I currently own a Denon and I absolutely love it! It sounds great and has plenty of power no matter which Denon model you choose. I may be a bit biased but if I were you I would pick a Denon.

This isn't exactly under $300 but if anybody wanted to up their budget, SVS has their PB-12NSD ans SB-12NSD subs listed as outlet specials for $600 because they are being replaced with the 2000...

You are going to need to up your budget. I think I would take a look at the Premier Acoustic PA-150 which can be had for around $300 at AcousticSoundDesign. That would probably fill that space.

THX's recommendation is to cross all of them over at 80hz, I have the ES150 also and have my sub set for LFE mode and the receiver's crossover set to 80hz and it sounds good to me

If you must go with 2 subs, try looking at getting two BIC F12's or two JBL ES250's. The JBL has quite a bit of output and is great for HT so two of those should do alright in your room.

Check out the JBL ES250P. The JBL ES subwoofers perform well for movies and can handle some music too. I would take a look at one of those on amazon for $199. Excellent deal for under 200.
