I would start with a sub woofer upgrade. Hsu, SVS, PSA, Ryhtmik, etc. Budget about $1000-1500 for that alone. Those Deftech subs, IMHO, are way over specd and usually die well before 25hz or so...

Sandy's previous company, Deftech, also was very liberal with their specs. You just have to ignore them and follow best practices in terms of bass management. This is what dedicated subs are for.
