One issue with Panasonic cameras is that they use aggressive noise reduction in low light. What that essentially does (it's a bit more sophisticated) is to smear, so resolution is lost. You can,...

It has the option to turn ex tele conv on and off in 4K. However, turning it on has no effect in 4K versus turning it off.

Yes, in 4K the Panasonic cameras crop the sensor. The crop factor for the GX85 is lower than it has been for prior Panasonic cameras in 4K. It is 2.2 for the GX85 in 4K. For the GH4, it is 2.4 for...

Why focus-peaking on the RX100 is Worthless: Demonstration

This video I discovered on YouTube shows how bad focus peaking is when you cannot magnify the view (which is when you shoot 4K). The reason is that focus peaking shows what is sharp on the lcd, not...

Do you mean tracking focus, where it locks on to the subject and follows it? This is what I understand:

Tracking AF can be activated before, or during recording by pressing the center button....

Great price. And using the 1080120p is a really good idea for sports - it has the best (along with some other Sony models). You have sound, very smooth motion at regular speed, and the possibility of...

Unless you need 60 fps, you should shoot in 4K and upload in 4K. You should not downscale to 1080. There is no reason to do that. YouTube will take your 4K video and downscale it for you. The 1080...

That's why there is an AF lock button

So, you just push the AF lock button after the quick AF finds it's spot. Easy. I do this on all my shots of stationary objects (mostly in case something walks in front). The problem with the RX100 IV...

IBIS Alone

The major advantage of IBIS for 4K is that you can use small, cheaper, non-stabilized sharp prime lenses and have stability.

I shot this 4K video handheld using the 25mm f1.7 lens on the GX85, to...

The total crop factor in 4K is supposed to be 2.5 (2.2 on the GX85). Have you tried EIS on top of OIS - that would give you more stability, more crop and even more range.
