I don't have a STBII but AFAIK iView has always supported clear QAM, it's only the Homeworx that has to have a specific backdoor firmware to get QAM.

Looks like that one is a HDD only recorder and HD at that. Are your programmes HD or just SD? The format may be different depending and even SD may be in a different format than the DVD standard...
