I have one on mine, its the quick little 1 sec power glitches we get quite often that are annoying waiting 15 to 20 min for the projector to cool to restart it is not pleasant.

Their might be a problem with the HDMI port on the projector. Try and find or borrow another HDMI device to try on the projector, sometimes two HDMI devices just don't play nice with each other.

Yes the Harmony Smart has no IR. If you are able to run a cable I would just cut and splice in a length of cable to the mini blaster, very easy to do.
