I don't know what to tell you. For the timing, it depends on what it was stat multiplexed against.

Yeah, you're kind of hosed if you can't put a dish up. Not sure if you guys needed 119, but...

It's a digital signal. It either gets there or it doesn't. What's different is once it hits the electronics in the box and TV, and how it is processed, scaled, transmitted, and delayed in each of...

Then you implied that. That logic doesn't make any sense, as they heavily compress both, it's the Comcast way. It's Comcastic!

They have to be getting the same signal. Digital doesn't degrade...

I literally said that channels could be compressed differently from one system to another, at the most local level, and not at a node level. Then you said I was wrong, and repeated essentially the...

There's error correction in the decoding. If you fall below the threshold for correcting the errors, you very quickly just lose the whole picture or it freezes/stutters. It doesn't degrade picture...

Cable does not work that way. The most local that channels could be compressed differently is from system to system. Within a system, everything is compressed exactly the same, as they are the same...

It may vary market by market, although I kind of doubt it given the number of stories about awful picture quality, and compression at a national level. Maybe your locals or regional channels are...

None of Comcast's customers are getting a good picture, unless their TV isn't good enough to show the mess that Comcast is providing. Are you referring to customers of DirecTV vs. Comcast customers?...

They are probably as clueless as the average person, sitting 15' away from their 50" TV and not noticing the issues. Sit 8' from my 65" 4k Sammy, and you see everything. It's awful. It has nothing to...

That's not a signal issue, that's an issue with Comcast's ridiculous compression. It looks horrible on my 65" Sammy, far worse than it did on my 60" Sharp. The only solution is to switch to DirecTV....

Holy crap, I can't believe people still have DCT and DCH boxes out there! We swapped out (at my parents' house) for DCXes a long time ago, and later for X1. I've got a TiVo myself. The DCXes, while...
