I recently bought a pair of Focal Little Bird from A4L to use as front heights. They're great and meet your requirements. I got mine on a B1G1 sale. Not sure how often they run those.

Depends on the content. For TV programming incl. sports I'd go with the smaller screen. For movies where some thought has gone into composition etc. I'd go with the big screen.

You definitely can. I've had surrounds of a different brand several times, no problem.

The one exception may be if you listen to a lot of multi channel music. Then you might notice the difference.
