If you can do kits, the Stereo Integrity HT18 (http://stereointegrity.com/product/ht18-18-subwoofer/) measured very similarly to the Dayton Reference HO, if anything a tad better, and is less...

Gorilla killa is referring to my well known disdain for PSA as a company. I have been very critical of the way they have used certain performance metrics to market their subwoofers, I didn't have any...

You can lay the CX-10 down horizontally. It should not effect the performance that much due to the co-axial driver design. I don't know if the Beryllium tweeter upgrade is worth it, but you said your...

I would be looking at the Reaction Audio CX-10 (http://reaction-audio.myshopify.com/collections/speakers/products/cx-10?variant=823614953) with Beryllian tweeters. The Klipsch THX and Triad speakers...

If you want the VTF3 mk5 to sound more like the XS30se, run it with two ports open with the EQ switch set to 'EQ2', and set the Q control to '.3'. This will shift more output to mid bass frequencies...

The OP is broken on so many levels.

A: As has been said, there is no imaging in frequencies which are omnidirectional, ie. the subwoofer's band. Although it sounds to me like you are talking...

What is the crossover set at? If it is 80, you can get more chest pounding if you raise it, try 100 Hz or 120 Hz. The VTF15h's have a lot more headroom in these mid bass frequencies than then HB-1s,...

Looks like a reasonably good setup, but I would shift the budget a bit. I would go from front tower speakers to bookshelf speakers, and I would use the money saved for a better subwoofer. The Klipsch...

That would be a good shootout. I would replace the PB1000 with the EMP I-12 though, the PB1000 is just going to get clobbered there. The EMP I-12 looks like it could be very good for the price.

Everyone accuses Chucky of being a Reaction Audio shill, but remember that he did end up buying a Captivator. He is recommending what he thinks is the highest value subwoofer.

I think the only advantage of free return shipping is so you can see what kind of performance is involved with these subs without penalty. If you know what to expect, there is no draw. Remember that...

It can become extension depending on how you EQ the subs. Without equalization, you gain no extension. The headroom has to be shaped to make that deep bass output on the level with higher bands.
