This happens all the time with my cable box I use with Comcast direct to my receiver as well. Just sounds like the HDMI outputs on these devices are pretty terrible.

No. The decoders were not designed to run at clock rates needed to process 4K media. So I would not bother upgrading the BDP-105 to a BDP-105D if you are just looking for 4K output. 60Hz versus 24Hz...

You can always downgrade to the current Official Firmware using the CD or USB method. OPPO always allows Beta/Test firmware to downgrade to current Official Firmware.
