Depends on whether you prefer using MCACC (Pioneer) or Audyssey MultEQ XT (Marantz), although an even better deal would be the newer Marantz SR7008 which uses the more advanced Audyssey MultEQ XT32.

Until another X3100W owner can confirm the issue, you may want to simply try doing a soft reset by unplugging the unit's power cord for 10 minutes and possibly rebooting the router.

The mic can also be purchased directly from Denon as well as on eBay for about $25. Note too that the Audyssey mic from any Denon, Marantz, or Onkyo AVR from the last 5 years can be used as well.
