I think that's a great idea!

I'll let you know how it sounds with Dirac. I'm somewhat curious as to how to XMC-1 compares to the Foundation...just to get an idea of how good it is in relation to...

No, I have not heard any Krell gear in over 15 years. And to be quite honest, the cost of Foundation is way above my beer budget. I have the Revel Performa3 speakers and Emotiva XPR-5 / XPA-2 gen2...

I just got the XMC-1. And I agree sometimes these comparisons are not valid. Also, I would expect the Krell Foundation to be better than the XMC-1. Regardless, the XMC-1 is quite good but I'd be...

I did get the one midrange and performed the surgery! It's as good as new (at least the one).

I have also cranked it at ear splitting using my XPR-5 (500 w/p/c when running 2 ch) and no issues...

No worries. You will get similar slow service from Revel. :)

I blew the midrange drivers on both my F208s. One midrange is in stock and will take a week. The other 6-8 weeks. I waited 8 weeks...

I am enjoying mine as well (F208s) but if I had the Studio2, I'd enjoy just a little more. :)

But it's good enough to last me years and years, the older I get, the worse my hearing is anyway. :D

I don't doubt that these are outstanding speakers and will probably far exceed the F206 in a home theater setting.

How much are they again? :)

Maybe 3 F206's and 4 M105's then. Not sure about the subs...remember, if you do it right, you only need to buy these things once.

Or 7 M105s and 4 better subs crossed over at 100 Hz? I guess...

The subs need to go deep but need to be fast to match the tight bass of the Revels. If you get some diy 18" sub that's all boomy, it's not ideal.

The Revel's bass is solid.

Also, if you are...

On it's own, the F208 can play louder and go deeper than the F206. However, when you factor in subwoofers, I'm not sure if there is value added by going with the F208. For example, if your budget...

That's a big room. Good thing the Revels can be playing at very high volumes without strain. That's common across all Revels.

Also, if you like the Focal sound and have a little room in your...

I don't recommend using amps from a receiver to power quality speakers. If you had a pair of Cerwin Vegas, I would say fine but not Revels.

First it should be less than 1500 as you should get 20%+ retail. And yes, the F208 is worth the difference.

I heard them side by side and F208 and Studio2 side by side. The lack of compression...
