Do you have the room or room design to properly place 7.1 speakers? If not, just upgrade what you have...and I agree with the sub suggestion first. Cerwin Vega is NOT know for making great subs!

I think Ascend Acoutics has Canadian distrubtion and the above mentioned CMT340 is outstanding. Get a decent AV reciever, a pair of those and then upgrade later is my advice.
