I would wait for CEDIA in October but DPI's most attractive affordable offering for a screen your size is the DPI HIGHlite 330-3D-HC. A fantastic projector, but it is near double what you want to...

For theatrical, probably.

For home use, I believe TrueHD/DTS-MA 5.1 - 7.1 will remain the dominant sound formats.

In FAST mode the Epson LS10000 has much less input lag than the JVCs - 56ms vs 125ms. So the Epson is actually better in terms of input lag as well.

The problem is the way HDCP 2.2 works, they can ban/revoke the device proactively through HDCP-enabled content. So even if you bought the device now and it works now, it may be revoked 6 months from...

Does not add P3 colorspace obviously (for instance to JVC pjs without HDMI2.0+HDCP2.2) and HDCP can revoke the device down the road (rendering it unusable) as this could be considered a circumvention...

I agree laser is the feature that allows Epson to put the price premium on the unit, but those other features make it a more well rounded projector as well. So that adds some value for me as well. ...

IMO the JVC is a great value but has become a 1-trick pony - black level. (which the Epson approaches). That's not to say jvcs are bad, they are great for the price - but jvc needs to revamp the line...

For LS10000 owners who have the projector for a couple of months:

2. Same question...

Also keep in mind the P3 color space of the ls10000 is of debatable use given it results in 25% lumens loss. Also the eshift is only really needed if you have a very large screen with close seating...

Frankly I think 120" at 12-14ft, 4k would be a complete waste of money. ITU spec says distance to screen should be 1.5x screen height to get full benefit of 4k. You are WAY out of that range, so...

What makes 0.65" DC3 DMD 3-chip 1080p DLP so expensive?

Curious, why are 0.65" DC3 1080p 3-chip DLP designs still so expensive ($20k+)? (i.e. such as DPI HIGHlite 330 3D) Is it the prism that costs so much to manufacture? Just curious as 0.65" DC3 chips...
