I had this set for a month now and find the pq on cable to be good. As long as you adjust the different settings, the pq is pretty much the same as an analog set. IMO.

why not get the 36xs955? It is 4:3. you get a 33" 16:9 and 36" 4:3. Tv should last at least 5 years. Hdtv should not be prevalent for at least 5-7 years....

I bought this tv set and LOVE it!

16:9 material is not in the majority yet. I bought a 4:3 because it looks like HDTV wont have a hold onto the channels 24hrs A day untill at least 2009 ( new time frame).

That gives a me a full 5...

I once owned the 960. I found the 36xs955 (4:3) set is better for me. the 16:9 screen size is ONLY 1 inch smaller, yet the 4:3 screen size is 36" (ALOT bigger than the 960). The PQ is about the same...

I really dont think it's worth it. If you have a NEW sony tv set, The set itself will upconvert the image. No need for a dvd player to upconvert unless the chip that is used is better than the tv...
