It's technically VM hardware version 10 introduced in ESXi 5.5. Unless you need something in version 10, you can still create and manage lower HW version VMs in ESXi 5.5 through the vSphere client

If it's a brand new addition, the guide data probably isn't updated yet, so WMC has no idea the channel is there even if it's in the CableCARD map. You'll just have to wait for it to show up

Thanks, this is one of the other methods I was looking for. It pretty much simulates a Time Capsule, so you should get auto-mount and all that good stuff. In my case, backup storage is run on Windows...

You will not be able to bitstream HD codecs when running VMware or Parallels, even if XBMC will work at all in a VM. You're much better just installing Windows through Boot Camp

I'm not sure how to help with troubleshooting, but I'm getting DTS-MA and Dolby TrueHD using XBMC on that exact NUC. Audio is set to WASAPI (I think).
