What I do at low light levels (20% and below) is take continuous readings and watch the RGB/gamma values and adjust accordingly so that the average value of the swings is your target point (eyeball...

Flash has been nothing short of a security/vulnerability exploit which is why they release updated versions every week (or so). I'd love to see it die regardless of which platform I'm using.

I haven't been here in awhile but geeze guys. What's so off topic about discussing projector lenses - in a JVC Cedia thread? This would perhaps be "off-topic" in a specific model thread on in an...

Thanks,
It seems like the black level setting change in the 57 indicates 10 bits. It's nice they will now be 12 bit capable for banding as you indicated.

Kris,
Did JVC go to 10 bits starting with the RS57 and 67 models? I suspected that when I discovered the black floor on my RS57 doesn't raise with a contrast setting above 0 as was the case with...

I guess my 3D desire was tainted way back when it was first fooled with in the 60's (?). And I was never sold, nor impressed, with the 3D demo's in places like Best Buy (not to mention the resulting...

I've had two, maybe 3 JVC's capable of 3D and have yet to watch any content in 3D. Emitter? I don't need no stinkin emitter.....:)

Yes, you're right. A 1080p input signal is upconverted to 4K then that data is "split" into two 1080p sub frames to compete an eShift frame. If the input signal is already 4K then it is "split" into...

It was the "nearly equal" part that jumped out at me earlier. Still doesn't sound right but I'm sure Kris is right where things stand now. I guess I was also thinking that true 4K would have wider...

Thanks Kris. I guess that is not what I would expect with real 4K content but I certainly respect your opinions and observations.

That said, my post probably implies otherwise but I don't have a...

I understand, thoroughly, how eShift works. It's a very clever scheme and it does (for the most part but not always, IMO) improve the image. But it's not true 4K and it can never have the resolution...

I haven't read any previews/reviews on the new JVC's yet but I would not expect 2K eshift images to have near 4K detail. With 1/4 of the pixels it just cannot. I certainly hope JVC doesn't expect to...

Previous versions of JVC's two upper end models have been THX 3D certified since they came out with 3D. If 3D improvements are not advertised by JVC I would eliminate any hope in that regard....That...
