Yeah, Somehow I kept walking right by that. I did find it and I have set it to Enhanced and it did resolve the problem - and it's now using 12 bits instead of 8. Bingo!

I did try setting the TV HDMI Video Range to Full (the other options are Auto and Limited) but it makes no difference, the Oppo thinks the TV is not HDR compatible.

It seems like the black level setting change in the 57 indicates 10 bits. It's nice they will now be 12 bit capable for banding as you indicated.
