Of course the 83 still allows easy rollback to prior firmware versions. So there's not all THAT much risk. But I'm sure OPPO would prefer to know up front that the "fix" is safe.

It would have to be in the form of a firmware update. The trick is making sure the "fix" is safe -- i.e., doesn't screw up playback of CORRECTLY authored discs.
