I could do either. Subs can run up to 80hz (or higher) and I could run the LCR to 60hz no sweat.

The drivers seem to have plenty of excursion, and having mains that can do 60hz at above...

We put mini splits in a rental, and my dad's house and they are quite quiet. On low they are very acceptable. Under 35db for almost all units. The silent modes on some is 20db.

Erich has big JBL compression drivers on sale or available for pennies on the dollar. These are $850 pro models. Comes with waveguides. They should take a beating and do well for your application.

On low or silent mode they are quieter than duct system but on high or max they are louder (the mini split).

Pick the one that works best with you goals, ease of install, and budget.
