I figured out what happened. The DVR was set to record a single show, but it never stopped recording when it was supposed to, so that one recording was about 20 hours. Luckily, it hasn't happened...

Update -- I checked the firmware, and it's 12.22, so I assume I must have a Phase III. I'm using HDMI out to my DVI HDTV.

Last night I recorded 5.1 Dolby with no problem.
