We only did the stretched fabric over wood thing...

We only did the stretched fabric over wood thing once, then went to track. SO MUCH EASIER & QUICKER!! Only downside is the cost of the track.

It's mostly dependent on cable length. Many of existing cables can support 10.2 and 18 in shorter lengths. Once you go > 15ft all bets are off. That's one reason we are exclusively using Celerity...

If you put them in an enclosure it will just reduce the LF extension. LF extension normally not a huge deal as you will be running an 80Hz XO most times.

Yes, more open area the better. Would be hard to overdo it with a riser. You could also drill largish holes (1"+ in the top layers), as many as possible.

I would use pink fluffy rather than Roxul....
