As BTH said the DS4 are your best value 18 around. Anything else becomes biased opinion. I think there are quite a few other drivers out that would be a great choice but its up to you in the end....

Just buy a J1 and add a ESL supertweer. Done. LOL. These are pro audio designs so 30hz-16Khz would be just fine. And in a home setting you can eq these for a bit more extension up top and down below.
