Labor and shipping are the main costs but there are other cost that most people don't take into account. Shop space to build the subs, electricity, internet marketing/website all cost money.

Get a piece of wood that's about 2 feet wider...

Get a piece of wood that's about 2 feet wider than your stant. Place it underneath your TV and place you speakers on the wood. One to the left of your tv and on to the right of your tv.

I have one too. Make sure you have a can of pam...

I have one too. Make sure you have a can of pam cooking spray handy because sometimes it will not fire any nails just make noise and it has to be sprayed.

I paid $1100 for a pair of new powered RCF 10...

I paid $1100 for a pair of new powered RCF 10 inch speakers and $600 for a used powered Yorkville LS720 15 inch sub. System is light weight and easy to set up. Somtimes DIY is not the way to go.
